One of the ticket stubs from our first date. |
2-Our second date was to see Diana Krall performing at a venue called the Iron Horse Music Hall in Northampton, Massachusetts.
3-Susan likes roller coasters. Mitch, not so much. (Although he's starting to like them more.)
Susan loves Space Mountain at Disneyland, Mitch not so much. |
4-One of our favorite restaurants is Mother India in Costa Mesa, California. We often go there for birthdays, anniversaries, and other special occasions.
5-The coldest place we've ever been together was Cambridge, Massachusetts for New Year's Eve, 1999 and the hottest place was Las Vegas in the summer, either August 2000 or July 2012.
Enjoying Red Rock Canyon near Las Vegas (despite the 119 degree heat). |
6-We've lost count of how many times we've seen the TV show Arrested Development, but we've seen it at least 6 times all the way through.
Our nod to Arrested Development, one Bluth banana please! |
7-The first country we visited together was Canada on a road trip from Amherst, Massachusetts to Montreal to see the exhibition "Exiles & Emigres: The Flight of European Artists from Hitler" at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts in 1997. We've also visited London and Paris together.
The catalog from Exiles and Emigres. We realized when we first met that we had a mutual interest in the plight of modern artists in Nazi Germany. |
8-We've seen all of Wes Anderson's movies in the theater together (except Bottle Rocket which came out in 1994 before we met.)
9-Every year our birthdays fall on the same day of the week exactly 4 weeks apart.
Thanks to Susan's birthday four weeks later, Mitch always gets one of his birthday wishes, more cake! |
And an extra special bonus fact since it's an election year...
11-We've both voted for the same presidential candidate for the last 20 years (even before we met).

Re #8 - the Bead Shop Hop doesn't count?
ReplyDeleteThe Bead Shop Hop is a great adventure around Southern California that we've done together the last couple of years. It's just not the grand adventure you get on a coast to coast trip across the United States. We had hoped to travel together when Mitch moved from Massachusetts to California in 1999, but it didn't work out. We'd like to take a cross country trip with our child someday.
